Modernistic Receives SGIA Sustainability Recognition Award for Second Consecutive Year

March 22, 2011 – Stillwater, MN — Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) member company MODERNISTIC was recently honored with their second consecutive SGIA Sustainability Recognition Award.

To qualify, companies were required to submit a copy of their sustainability policy.  MODERNISTIC’s policy highlights a commitment to integrating environmental, safety and health elements in their operations (facility-wide), while making employee health and safety a top priority.

Each company was asked to outline the 2010 sustainability project that was undertaken.  MODERNISTIC set out to reduce our overall electricity kilowatt hours by 10% as compared to 2009, they not only met but exceeded their goal with an overall electricity reduction of 18%.

MODERNISTIC has received certification from the Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership in 2009, and is currently only one of two screen and digital large format printers in the nation with this distinction. The SGP is the first and only national certification for printers that have implemented environmentally sustainable business practices.
